SUPERSTITION AND INDIGENOUS TREATMENT: APPENDIX IS CURED BY DROPPING TIP OF LIGHTING CIGARETTE ON BODY IN GANDERBAL

SRINAGAR,JAN,10:  it is 21st century when we are claiming of better health care, infrastructure and medical facilities, ironically many people fall prey to superstition and indigenous treatment. in a startling revelation kashmir excelsior found that in a far flung area of ganderbal district of central kashmir, many villagers take their innocent children suffering from appendix to a local lady who claims to cure the appendix illness by indigenous treatment in which she lit a cigarette drop its tip on the body parts of innocent children rendering them to cry in unbearable pain.

The video shows after lighting cigarette, dropping its tip on body, deep burn marks are left on the body of helpless child which according to Doctor Khursheed Ahmad is absolutely wrong. Doctor Khursheed told that such treatments can’t end appendix illness adding that it is just superstition and indigenous which must be stopped.

This practice in the name of treatment has raised a serious question on the health care system of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. It is observed that due to poor health care people fall prey to these superstition and indigenous treatment which can risk a precious life.
